Recently it was Mum’s birthday and I usually try to make her a present. With being away over Christmas I hadn’t had chance to make her anything, but I have now! I had decided I needed a new cosmetic bag and thought this would be a nice idea for Mum too. The one I made for her is the one with the pink zip. I used various fabrics from my stash and used the stitch and flip method, which meant it didn’t need quilting. Result! For the one for myself I used scraps of fabric which were already cut into 2½” squares from another project, stitched together, backed with iron on interfacing, then diagonally quilted with cotton batting. I added an extra piece on the top as I hadn’t made it quite big enough. Very quick and easy to make!
